Pet Friendly Accommodations in NH’s Mount Washington Valley At The Village House in Jackson, New Hampshire, Robin Crocker stumbled into offering pet-friendly accommodations due to “a happy accident:” The inn was inadvertently listed in a pet-friendly guide. As a result, she set aside some of her 9 rooms, an idea that has become so popular that she now makes all her rooms available. The 6 acres surrounding the inn offer plenty of space for recreation and pet sitting is also available for a fee. Robin’s love for dogs doesn’t end there, though. She also owns Yellow Snow Dog Gear, a dog collar and lead manufacturer. Products are available online or through national distributors. However, Robin’s favorite pastime is being a puppy raiser with the National Education for Assistance Dog Service (NEADS). Thirteen years ago she saw an ad and knew immediately that she wanted to volunteer. Two years later a NH chapter was formed and she received her first dog. Robin admits that it was difficult to surrender the dog after spending a year training it, but after she attended graduation and met his new owner, she realized her life was richer for the experience and she waited impatiently for her next trainee. For pet owners who prefer a more secluded vacation, visit the Stonehurst Manor. Minutes from North Conway, it is nestled on 33 acres of pine forest and features dozens of trails. The 26-room establishment, a strong supporter of the Conway Area Humane Society, offers pet friendly accommodations in their Mountain View Wing. Upon checking in, the doggie guest receives a signature pet bowl, a bag of special treats, a list of area pet attractions and a key to the private entrance of the pet-friendly room. | |
