The Rochester Opera house presents William Shakespeare’s immortal love story, Romeo and Juliet for three performances only, May 11 and 12. An ancient feud between rival families shatters Verona until, against the odds, two teenagers from opposing factions meet and fall in love. Performances are Friday, May 11 at 7:00pm and Saturday, May 12 at 2:00pm and 7:00pm. Student rush tickets are available for $10 at the door, beginning two hours before each show. Since it was written over five-hundred years ago, Romeo and Juliet has always been a director, actor, and audience favorite, but recent staged productions of this immortal play have been rare in the Seacoast region. Area audiences now have the opportunity to view the play through the vision of director Tommy Hensel in a sparse, modern staging that emphasizes the power of the acting and the language.
