Zucchini Fish Greeting Card Company, Providence, Rhode Island In 1999, Photojournalist Carey Marden and long-time friend and artist Stephanie Valovic combined their creative talents and started Zucchini Fish, a handmade greeting card company.  Their first studio was in Carey’s small apartment near Boston where they battled with five cats for space.  At the beginning they mainly sold at local craft fairs and then onto regional craft fairs and directly to a rapidly growing customer base.  As the unique cards gained in popularity, they started to receive requests for wholesale orders.  Eventually, the company transitioned to a mainly wholesale company and is a regular exhibitor at the Boston Gift Show and at the National Stationery Show in New York.  Today Zucchini Fish headquarters is located in Providence, RI and the cards can be found in gift shops and other retailers nationwide.  Using Carey’s sophisticated mixed media creations, Stephanie’s whimsical paintings and a streamlined design, the cards are irresistible in their simplicity and elegance.  The cards come in a variety of colors, shapes and sizes, including the popular square and mini.
