Moo Jew Comedy Plays Vermont
Moo Jew Comedy, Jason Lorber
Moo Jew Comedy Plays Vermont Christmas Eve
Classic Country Life recently received an unusual posting:

Q  What’s Moo-Jew Comedy?

A  Jewish Comedians performing in Vermont at a Chinese Restaurant on Xmas Eve.  Save the date:  Erev X-mas (I’m talking Dec. 24, 2006).  You want a dinner, a show, and fun for the whole mishpacha?  It’ll be at the Asian Bistro in Williston.

We contacted Jason Lorber, the writer
of the post and asked for insight.

CCL  Where did you come up with the idea for Moo Jew Comedy?

Lorber  That’s like asking how I came up with the idea of guilt as a child-rearing technique.  Jews have been congregating at Chinese restaurants on Xmas eve well before Xmas even came along.
The show just makes sense–rather than have Jews come to a show, we’re bringing the show to them.

CCL  Is this a monologue?  Series of skits?
Stand-up?  Improv?

Lorber  It’s a night of stand-up comedy, featuring some of the funniest comedians from
around New England, supplemented by flying
egg rolls and a 4 course dinner.

CCL  Who is bringing this to fruition?

Lorber  It’s produced by Aplomb
Productions and a desire to celebrate humor.

CCL  Who do you expect to be in your audience?

Lorber  People from all walks of life, be they loud Jews, soft-spoken Jews, tall Jews, and short Jews.  It really runs the whole gamut.
The jokes will be kid-friendly, but geared to an adult audience.

CCL  Where/when/how much?

Lorber  It’s at the Asian Bistro at 121 Connor Way, Williston, Vermont  (see Mapquest for driving directions).  Tickets are $45 at the door (which includes tax AND tip–such a deal) for a 4 course dinner and all the comedy you can eat.  Five bucks off for tickets purchased in advance.  Kids under Bat/
Bar-Mitzvah age are half price.  Dinner starts promptly at 8ish on Erev Xmas (Dec. 24, 2006).
